O Governo de Moçambique, na sua 33.ª Sessão Ordinária, no dia 19 de Setembro
de 2017, apreciou e aprovou a resolução que ratifica a adesão da República de
Moçambique ao Protocolo de Banjul sobre Marcas, adoptado em 19 de Novembro de
1993 e os respectivos regulamentos de implementação.
Na mesma sessão o Governo, igualmente, apreciou e aprovou a resolução
que ratifica a adesão da República de Moçambique ao Acordo de Viena de 1973,
que estabelece a Classificação Internacional de Elementos Figurativos de Marcas
e suas Sucessivas Modificações.

que o Protocolo de Banjul é gerido pela ARIPO (Organização Regional Africana da
Propriedade Intelectual), com sede em Harare, Zimbabwe, da qual fazem parte 19
Estados membro, a saber: Botswana,
The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Sierra Leone,
Liberia, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania,
Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Por seu turno,
o Acordo de Viena é administrado pela WIPO, tendo à ele aderido 32 Estados
membro.
The Government of Mozambique, at its 33rd Ordinary Session, on 19
September 2017, considered and approved the resolution ratifying the accession
of the Republic of Mozambique to the Banjul Protocol on Trade Marks adopted on
19 November 1993 and the respective implementing regulations.
At the same meeting, the Government also considered and approved
the resolution ratifying the accession of the Republic of Mozambique to the
1973 Vienna Agreement establishing the International Classification of
Figurative Elements of Marks and their successive modifications.
It is worth remembering that the Banjul Protocol is managed by
ARIPO (African Regional Intellectual Property Organization), based in Harare,
Zimbabwe, with 19 member states including Botswana, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya,
Lesotho, Malawi , Mozambique, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Rwanda, Sao Tome
and Principe, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
In turn, the Vienna Agreement is administered by WIPO.
